| There's that happy girl we all know! |
Weight: 24 pounds, 5 ounces [97th percentile!...... shocking!]
Height: 28.75 inches [50th percentile]
Wearing: size 4 diapers, all clothes are mostly in the 18 month range. I am kind of finally realizing that while Carter's stuff is cute, it just doesn't work for this big baby! After a couple washes they shrink and don't fit her anymore, making it just feel so wasteful! Old Navy and Children's Place clothes seem to be a good bet for us lately, their sizes are pretty accurate and fit and hold up well. I especially like the CP pjs.
Likes: pretty much everything and everyone. Loves being outside, going for walks, playing on the swings. Likes to snuggle me in the Ergo carrier. LOVES food - of all kinds. Cannot even open a wrapper to any type of food as she thinks everything is for her and gets mad if you don't share. Loves opening drawers in the kitchen and exploring our Tupperware and throwing things around. Loves her big sissy, loves bath time and splashing around, loves standing up and taking steps. Again, she is just pretty much the happiest baby around.
Dislikes: when Mommy walks away. (still) Otherwise there isn't too much she doesn't like. I guess besides headlocks and body slams from Anna.
This month was kind of hard, as I got carpal tunnel surgery on my right hand. I wasn't able to lift Allie on my own for 5 days (although that didn't happen), and I had a big bandage thing on it, plus pain and stitches, etc. I did my best but it definitely made things a little harder around here. I have to say though, after the initial first 5 days, it was feeling GREAT. I see a HUGE difference in my hand and there is no numbness and barely any pain (unless I hit the wounds or turn it the wrong way). I am SO happy I did this and so glad Doug pushed for me to go. I no longer have to wear the brace at night and no longer have numbness when washing my hair or doing my makeup or anything really. The left hand had only "moderate" nerve damage so they weren't as 'eager' to do that one as they were for my right hand. Basically they want the right one to heal all the way before discussing the other hand. Now that I know recovery isn't awful (as long as we aren't killed on the insurance side of things) I can't wait to fix the other side and once and for all be done with all this pain and numbness.
Otherwise we have been having fun. Lots of nice days playing with friends, going to parks, playing in the baby pool outside, going to the beach (ehh, not as fun with 2 kids) and just enjoying the good weather. I will certainly miss this freedom when it gets cold!
In just one month we'll be celebrating Allie's first year with a ONE-derland celebration. More to come! :)
And here are some outtakes - my favorite:
